TeamViewer announces End-Of-Life for legacy versions 5 through 10
What is TeamViewer?
TeamViewer is a 3rd party program that Beacon utilise to offer support services to Beacon Software users around the world.
How does this affect me?
This will not affect all customers, but it is worthwhile checking your TeamViewer versions just in case.
The versions this affects are Version 5 through to Version 10. If any of the POS, Back Office, or Head Office terminals are using an older version of the TeamViewer, it will stop working on the 15th of September 2021. This will prevent Beacon Support from being able to remotely access any affected terminals if they are not updated.
How do I check?
If you have the TeamViewer Host application that Beacon have provided, simply right-click on the TeamViewer icon within the system tray and select ‘Check for new versions’
If you have the full TeamViewer application that has not been supplied by Beacon, please contact your IT team or TeamViewer before upgrading.
